79-year-old fashions

The treasures are beginning to emerge now from the paperwork. Here is an advertisement page torn out of The Tatler on 28th March 1928, when I was four months old - bosoms bound tightly to the chest, by the looks of it, so as to have no discernible bust!

No discernible bust! How dull!

I'm opposed to that look!

Hell's teeth, the things some women go through to look 'fashionable'!

I'm sure they will come back again.

Well, Lee, I've seen a good many fashions come round again in all those years, but never bound breasts or whalebone corsets. Mind you, I was still wearing a lightly boned elastic girdle in the 1950s, and stilettos and platform heels are also pretty-body distorting. Also it's my personal view that the g-string must be almost as unrealistic and uncomfortable as the others, though I am not prepared to prove it!
